Marisa Picardo is a Death Doula, for which people use different names, for example, End of Life Companion, Soul Midwife, End of Life Doula and Death and Dying Guide. Marisa will provide comfort, continuous support and reassurance in helping a dying person to experience the death he or she wants. She will respectfully assist and accompany a dying person on their journey, whether this is at home or in hospital or hospice.
Marisa believes that: “A good death is an extraordinary, moving and sacred experience. It can also have a healing quality, not only for the person who is involved but their families, friends and the wider community.” (Felicity Warner, Gentle Dying)

Marisa is also a professionally trained funeral celebrant, she trained with Fellowship of professional celebrants. She works closely with funeral directors to offer a service befitting to the individual, family members and loved ones.
Body work is also offered by Marisa. She took her first qualification in ITEC massage in the early 90s and has enhanced and developed her toolkit of healing, re-balancing, and therapeutic interventions along the way, with further training and on-going interests in complementary therapy. She is a qualified Swedish masseuse, Indian Head Massage practitioner and Reiki practitioner and is fully insured.
Marisa is a qualified Mental Health Nurse and has worked in this profession for many years she has only recently left this profession to focus on end of life care and funeral services. Marisa has a spiritual practice and on-going spiritual development, which enhances her work and daily living.
